Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Horses have, just like humans, an integrated lymphatic system in their body.

Unfortunately, their lymphatic system is less stimulated, for this reason a certain amount of frequently movements is required.

If there is a lack of activation of the lymphatic system swellings may occur. The so-called “stable legs” are the perfect example.

Legs are not the only limbs which may suffer from this oedema.

The lymphatic system of the horse consists of 7 parts and each part is not activated the same way. The rear legs will swell faster than the fore ones.

Emilie can, if necessary, treat the horse with a manual lymphatic drainage.

The manual lymphatic drainage consists very soft, anatomically superficial techniques, which need an experienced therapist.
